Description
The Orca is a modular, shell ejecting, low hardware nerf blaster that uses 4mm elastic and super glue for assembly.
Designed to fit the needs of just about any hobbyist or prop blaster enjoyer. Switch from a picatinny underbarrel launcher to a pistol to a full size launcher in seconds with the 3D printed pins.
The included MS-Shells (Manta Stringer Shells) are front ejecting shells that allow you to switch between other ammo types such as short darts for increased performance or a multi-dart spread. More ammo types and non-ejecting barrel inserts coming soon!
Update Log
Update 2/12/26: V2 shells have been added to the files. These new shells have adjusted tolerances to work better with worn darts. They also include a new locking design that helps to line up the elastic with the string path.
Update 2/6/26: A new stock variant has been added to the files. This new stock features a thumb hole design with increased grip angle and pic rail for accessories.
Update 1/20/26: Pump grip variants without the string guide have been added.
Printing Info
All models are oriented how I printed them but you may have better luck with a different orientation. If your printer is well tuned, you should be able to print most parts without support.
Infill: 25% Gyroid
Walls: 6
Nozzle: .4mm
Layer Height: .15mm
Support: No (Highly recommended for Picatinny_PumpGrip)
Bed Adhesion: 5mm Brim (Recommended for bed slingers)
Pins can be scale adjusted in your slicer if they are too tight or too loose.
Included in the files are pre-grouped models split by color for easier slicing. Primary (White) Secondary (Black) Tertiary (Orange).
MS-Shell Loading Procedure
First, load the shell with your desired ammo. Leaving the blaster unprimed, slide the shell into the front of the launcher body. The cutout in the back of the shell should line up with the string. Prime the blaster, insuring the shell follows the string all the way back. If done properly, the cutout should line up with the string path. Lastly, push the shell in with your finger to lock it in place. The energy of the elastic should eject the shell after firing.
*MS-shells are still experimental meaning they have only been printed and tested with my filament and printers. Your results may vary but I will continue to work with the community to iron out any issues. Unworn ember or ruby darts recommended for best results.*
