monorail half track

Description

A half-length track for the lego monorail system. It's in the same style like the quarter track I designed earlier.

Works fine with only supports in the corners (for the elevated corner-parts and the studs).

Safes a ton of printing time if you don't place supports under every hexagon.

I use the grey BASF Innofil3D PLA by now, it has a pretty neat color and texture. It is more like the new light grey bricks than like the original color but it's the best match I could find by now. If you have material suggestions just leave a comment :).

I just added a support-blocker template that yoou can use in Cura (or maybe anywhere else also) to block all but the corner supports.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Ultimaker

Printer:

Ultimaker 3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.15mm

Infill:

20% ZigZag

Filament: BASF Innofil 3D PLA Grey

Notes:

Less infill might also work fine, I just use 20% by default.
Also a higher layerheight will be fine, just don't do to high because of the studs on the side.

Supports should only be placed in the corners. You can use the blocker-template to make that easier.

Post-Printing

A bit postprocessing will be necessary since the side-studs won't be perfectly round.

Also depending on your printer and filament the fits on the bottom can be quite "press fitting", be careful not to break anything.
