Description
My son's Sino Heavy Forklift Toy's forks broke, the centre spindle rod snapped and the forks were able to work themselves off. I based these replacements on the originals with some key changes:
2 variants: Original & LevelOff (this variants has a added angle block at the hinge to keep the forks more level than the original set when carrying a load/pallet.
Slightly thicker fork tips for robustness.
3 part assembly (needs 2x M2x12 hex screws). The rod is keyed to reduce rotation and the screws give the joining links more strength - very simple
I'd suggest the rod printed with 100% infill, with a brim and printed vertically, in PETG, and slow!
For the forks, PETG again, infill at least 30%, I'd even make them solid (infill 100%). If going non-100%, then add modifier cylinders around the screw holes and set those areas to 100% infill to give it extra strength.
Print the forks on their side, with the keyed hole for the rod facing upwards. Add a brim and I'd suggest adding a support enforcer just inside the hex head hole.
Enjoy.
