Description
In 2019, the 4L Basket puzzle captured one of the top awards at the International Puzzle competition. This puzzle was designed by Koichi Miura who holds full copyright on it. Please print and use for your personal use only.
The goal is to pack the 4 L shaped pieces fully inside the box. No AMS is required to print this model.
I found this about a 3/5 for difficulty, but each puzzler will have their own unique experience. The box is printed in 3 pieces; the main box, a "handle" and a text insert. The text is separate so that you can use a contrasting filament color.
You can print the box at 0.3 or 0.2mm layer height. You WILL require support on the roof of the side cutouts. I used organic support with 0.2mm clearance. There is enough tolerance so that normal "drooping" in the bridge will not affect performance.
All parts are intended to be printed as oriented in the STL files.
I printed the title piece using a color change by layer height. All box parts used basic PLA.
The handle should slide into the notch on the sides. Glue the handle to the box and glue the text insert to the handle.
For the L pieces, I used transparent PETG because I find PETG parts slide a bit easier and feel more slippery than PLA. However, PLA will work fine. Print 4 of these pieces.
I included one hint in a zip file below. I believe there is a solution on the Net if you wish to search.
