Description
A holder for your phone to allow you to scan TCG cards like Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. Inspired by the Card Slinger and DIY scanner stands, but designed from scratch to print within the build volume of my Prusa Mini (180mm^3) and use less filament.
It's easiest to toss cards in from the side. X frame towards you, open side away from you.
I sized the bin for sleeved MTG but it should fit other cards fine. If you really need more space you could probably scale the the whole thing up a few percents in the slicer. Just remember to scale the stand too.
It has a removable card bin with slide slot to make it easy to remove scanned cards without messing with the rest of the setup. The bin platform and base have ridges so they mesh together keeping them aligned with the phone vertically but allowing you to slide it up and down or offset it left or right as needed for your phone.
You could even use it without the bin to scan anything you want I suppose.
The phone platform is a liiiittle short but doesn't seem to be a problem. Miraculously the shutter button in the Google Pixel camera app lines up right over the supports. I didn't plan for that but I'll take it.
Printed mine in PETG, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layers with input shaping and a raft for the bin since the ridges didn't provide much surface area even with flattening the points into trapezoids. Every other setting was default for prusament petg in prusa slicer. Consumes a little over 200g of filament.
I designed the stand to print on it's back, X frame down, open side up, no supports. Included a screenshot for reference.
This should go without saying but use at your own risk. Please inspect and smooth any and all surfaces that might come into contact with an unsleeved card. I'm not responsible for damage from use of this print.
