Description

Support your child’s development with our multi-sensory hedgehog. This toy is specifically designed to engage your baby’s senses:

  • Auditory: The soft rattle sound teaches cause-and-effect.

  • Tactile: Diverse textures provide a rich sensory experience.

  • Motor Skills: The rolling function encourages crawling and improves hand-eye coordination.

  • Visual: Bright colors and a friendly face keep your baby focused and happy.

🖨 3D Printing Guide: Simple Multi-Color Design

This sensory hedgehog was designed with simplicity and accessibility in mind. You don't need an expensive AMS (Automatic Material System) or MMU to achieve this vibrant, multi-color look!

Smart Multi-Color Logic

The model is constructed to be printed using simple filament swaps at specific layer heights. By pausing the print and changing the color at the right moment, you can get a beautiful, colorful result on any standard 3D printer.

  • No AMS Required: Designed for manual filament changes.

  • Layer-Based Coloring: Just set a "Pause at Height" or "Change Filament" command in your slicer (like PrusaSlicer).

  • Easy Assembly: All parts (Body, 4 Wheels, 2 Axles) are optimized for clean printing with minimal supports.

How to Print the Hedgehog Body:

  1. Base Layer (Main Body Color): Start with your primary color (e.g., White/Cream).

  2. Middle Layer (The "Spikes" Color): Set a filament change at the layer where the decorative spike pattern begins (e.g., Purple).

  3. Top Layer (The Eye/Detail): If your design has a raised eye or final detail, add one last swap for that finishing touch (e.g., Black).

Printing Tips:

  • Infill: 15-20% is perfect for a lightweight yet durable toy.

  • Material: PLA is recommended for its vibrant colors and ease of use for sensory toys.

  • Wheels & Axles: Print these separately. The wheels are designed as a press-fit, but a drop of glue is recommended for extra safety.

🦔 Hedgehog Rolling Toy – Assembly Guide

Follow these simple steps to bring your sensory hedgehog to life!

List of needed items:

  • 1x Hedgehog Main Body

  • 2x Axles (the green pins)

  • 4x Wheels

  • Optional: A drop of superglue (for extra durability)

Assembly Instructions

  1. Prepare the Axles: Insert the two green axles into the holes located at the bottom of the hedgehog’s body.

  2. Attach the Wheels: Take the four wheels and slide them onto the ends of the axles. These are designed to be a press-fit (on a tight squeeze), so you might need to apply a little bit of pressure.

  3. Secure with Glue (Highly Recommended): For maximum safety during play, apply a small drop of glue inside the wheel's center hole before pressing it onto the axle. This ensures the wheels won't fall off if your little one plays more vigorously.

  4. The Spin Test: Once assembled, give the wheels a quick spin to make sure they rotate freely and the hedgehog is ready to roll!

Ready to roll! Your sensory hedgehog is now finished.
