Description
A 14x1mm CCW threaded adapter for the H8R. Folks have made a lot of these over the years. We all seem to run in to the same problem - There's a very narrow space between the interior of the h8r where the muzzle piece rests, the outer barrel, and the outside world. The threaded adapters put a lot of torque on this very thin wall resulting in frequent failures. I made my own adapter to try to better understand the problem and explore potential solutions. This one doesn't differ much from any of the other versions. The available space severely constrains potential designs. But if you'd like (and you still have a h8r) download it and see what you can do.
Note that this is a scratch built model. I did look at some of the other versions out there for reference, but the model was made by me using Onshape and my trust calipers.
Print tips - I used .16 layer lines and printed at a 45% angle in hopes of giving it better torque strength. I used supports with PVA interface. Took four hours but makes for a pretty clean print.
