Flexi Toys Trio: Squirrel, Triceratops, & Dolphin

Bring some movement to your desk with this collection of Flexi Toys! This set includes three unique, fully articulated designs: a playful Squirrel, a sturdy Triceratops, and a sleek Dolphin.

All models are designed to be Print-in-Place, meaning they require no assembly and no supports. Just slice, print, and watch them come to life!

The Collection

  • Flexi Squirrel: Features a multi-segmented bushy tail that curls and moves realistically.

  • Flexi Triceratops: A prehistoric favorite with a segmented body and tail for a "walking" wiggle.

  • Flexi Dolphin: A smooth, aerodynamic design with fluid motion from nose to tail.

Print Settings

To ensure the joints move freely right off the bed, I recommend the following settings:

Setting

Recommended Value

Material

PLA (works best for articulated joints)

Layer Height

0.2mm (or 0.16mm for smoother joints)

Infill

15% - 20% (Grid or Gyroid)

Perimeters

3 walls (for better joint durability)

Supports

NONE (Designed to be support-free)

Adhesion

Brim recommended if you have bed adhesion issues

Did I mention that it prints within an hour ?

Pro Tips for a Successful Print

  • Bed Leveling: Since these models rely on small gaps between segments, a well-leveled bed is crucial to prevent the first layer from merging the joints together.

  • Cooling: Ensure your part cooling fan is at 100% after the first few layers to keep the overhangs on the joints clean.

  • Scaling: These can be scaled up easily, but be careful when scaling down (below 60%), as the tolerances between joints may become too tight and fuse.

Love the models? I’d love to see your prints! Please share a Make and let me know which color combination you used.
