Description
Inspired by playing Mörk Borg I decided to try something new. The idea was to create a design that matches with the wild art of Mörk Borg and feels cohesive.
I had no dice tower that felt fitting the setting, so I put out the good old paper and started drawing. I quickly came up with the worm idea, eating through the tower and thus matching with the holes.
First thing was a simple outline engraved into the surface of the Block Dice Tower. It was nice but not quite done. So I added brick wall to the tower surface and it was the right direction. But the straight pattern still wasn't enough. Too clean for a broken and falling world. It needed to be old looking. I actually started researching wall styles and how they were built and how they look. Tower houses were also a big inspiration, you can find a lot of them in Ireland and all over Europe. And it was paper again and a lot of stones to draw. But I think it was absolutely worth it.
I further put some hours into meshmixer and played around with the mesh, generating a even more natural look by drawing out the stones, giving them a more natural uneven surface. The worm got some dimension as well. But I see this model more like an experiment.
