Description
Alhambra (Big Box Version) is a great classic board game, yet it has one big flaw: the darn big box is just too big! This actually has resulted in me rarely bringing the game along as it occupies too much space. Additionally the original inlay isn't that great such that every play session usually starts in a 5 minutes speedrun of sorting all the content.
The goal of this project was to compress the game into a somewhat smaller version of the box, which can be crafted out of the Old Big Box.
Print Settings / Material:
I used nothing special here, just PLA (in this case Polymaker PolyTerra and eSun PLA+)
- 10% Infill (default Grid pattern, Lightning also works well)
- 0.25mm layer height
- no supports required
- printed on a Core One
Caveats regarding the box :-) (it did turn out mediocre as I'm not used to working with cardboard yet)
- board game cardboard is surprisingly rugged and hard to cut
- packing tape will actively sabotage your progress
- start by marking the size of the scoring board (the biggest single part in the box) on the cardboard, then cut accordingly
PS: This has been made from/for the german version of the big box, in case there are subtle differences
