Miniature Sandbox for Sylvanian Families / Calico Critters

Overview

Add a little fun to your miniature world! This is a simple, two-piece sandbox (sandpit) designed specifically to fit Sylvanian Families (Calico Critters) figures. It consists of a sturdy outer border and a separate "sand" insert, making it very easy to achieve a two-color look without needing a multi-material printer.

It is scaled perfectly for the standard 1:12ish scale of these puppets, but it can easily be scaled up or down in your slicer for other doll brands.

Printing Instructions

To get the look shown in the photos, I recommend the following:

• Border: Print in Brown PLA (to look like wood or plastic framing).

• Sand: Print in Yellow or Beige PLA.

• Settings: * Layer Height: 0.2mm works perfectly.

  • Infill: 10-15% is plenty; these aren't structural parts.

  • Supports: None needed.

Assembly

Simply place the sand insert into the border. It should be a snug fit, but you can add a drop of superglue if you want it to be permanent.
