🐸 Cute Frog "Mossy" – CARTOON EDITION (noAMS)
Meet Mossy, the coolest frog you'll ever meet on your 3D printer! This stylized "chibi" model represents an incredibly adorable version of a frog. With her friendly smile, huge hypnotic eyes, and textured back, Mossy is the perfect desk companion, a great gift for nature enthusiasts, or a playful accessory for a child's room.
📜 Mossy the Frog: Myths vs. Reality
Mossy was named after the deep green color reminiscent of forest moss. While our Mossy looks like she’s straight out of a fairy tale, her real-life ancestors are fascinating creatures:
Appearance and Skin: While real frogs often have slimy skin for protection, our Mossy features a 3D-printed texture that is very pleasant to the touch.
Eyes Like Radars: Frogs have excellent vision. Mossy’s eyes are intentionally oversized and stylized with a unique spiral effect, giving her an almost magical and deep gaze.
An Amphibian on Dry Land: Real frogs need moisture, but Mossy will be happiest on your shelf, in any color you can imagine – from neon green to deep azure blue.
🔍 Model Features
Hypnotic Eyes: The standout feature of the model. They are designed to consist of several parts, creating depth and a professional multi-color look even without expensive systems like AMS.
Textured Back: Detailed bumps on the dorsal area emphasize the model's robustness and look fantastic under light and shadow once printed.
Stable Stance: Thanks to her wide stance and four strong legs, Mossy stands firmly on any surface and is ready to "guard" your shelf.
Model height: 10 cm (can be resized)
🖨 Print Settings & Recommendations (Tested in Practice)
The model is designed with easy printability in mind. For the best results, I recommend the following:
Supports: Required only for Plate 2 (part 1 2color body) – I recommend Organic (Tree) supports for the area under the chin and belly.
Layer Height: 0.20 mm (0.16 mm recommended for extra fine details).
Infill: 8–10% gyroid.
Surface Effect (Fuzzy skin): If you want to achieve a realistic skin texture, try these settings: distance 0.3 mm / thickness 0.1 mm. For a smooth, glossy look (as seen in the photos), leave this setting off.
🛠 Assembly Instructions
Assembling Mossy is very simple and requires no complex tools:
Body: Print the Mossy body from Plate 1 (single color), or choose the two-color version and print the parts from Plate 2 and Plate 3.
Eyes: Print the eye parts (Plates 4, 5, and 6, or the combined Plate 7).
Eye Assembly: Insert the individual colored eye parts into each other and secure them with a drop of superglue. Then, glue the finished eyes into the prepared sockets in the head.
Belly: If you chose the two-color version, insert the "belly" part into the body and also secure it with a drop of superglue.
