Description

I designed a universal mounting system for the Reaction X training Pods. At the moment the system consists of case for the Pods and a cone holder for a cone with a top diameter of 50mm. The mounting system is based on a single M6 bold and nut making it multi purpose. In the future I will also design a mount for tree's and poles, but anything goes as long as it has threaded M6 for the case to screw on to.

The case accommodates two scenario's, you can choose if you want the USB charging connector to be reachable when in the case or not (if not only the on/off button is exposed) by turning the pod the other way around within the case. Please note that if you use the original Velcro that comes with the Pods to fix it to the case it will stick extremely well and removing it again can be hard. If this is not what you want you can reduce the sticking surface by cutting some smaller patches from the original Velcro patch or use narrow Velcro tape instead. If you choose to expose the USB charging connector this is less of an issue since the POD can stay in the case essentially forever.

For the case as well as the cone holder you need to stop printing at layer 40 to put in the M6 nut. This way both parts get their inner M6 thread. Afterward you need to screw in the M6 bold into the cone holder. To fix the bold in place and make sure that it will never loosen itself during use you can use the fixation ring to lock the M6 bold in place. For this you need to melt in a m3 threaded insert in the small hole on the bottom of the cone holder. This way the fixation ring can be locked in place with the m3 bold.

If you are going to use this design, please let me know what you think by taking the time to take some pictures and upload your make. Any feedback is also welcome of course.
