Description
🦁 The Lion and the Unicorn were fighting for the crown...
The roar echoes across the chessboard! Representing a powerful Rook, the mighty Lion has stepped onto the battlefield. With a magnificent, sweeping mane and a fierce expression, he is entirely focused on his eternal rivalry with the White Unicorn. Who will claim the crown on your board?
Carefully sculpted from scratch, this model is designed with true 3D printing elegance in mind. The deep textures of the Lion’s fur and his imposing posture are fully optimized for FDM printers, ensuring a clean, highly detailed result straight off the build plate without the need for complicated hardware or assembly.
To get the best possible result for your grand chessboard, here are a few tips for printing the Lion:
Layer Height: 0.16mm is highly recommended. The Lion features deep, dynamic textures in his mane, and a smaller layer height will make those fine details truly shine.
Supports: Tree (organic) supports are recommended for the overhangs around the chin and the lower parts of the mane. They are easy to remove and will leave the fur texture intact.
Infill & Weight: 15-20% is sufficient for the body. However, for a premium tabletop feel, consider using modifiers in your slicer to print the base at 100% infill. This gives the piece a satisfying, heavy weight on the board.
The chessboard is filling up, and the Looking-Glass world is getting more crowded by the minute!
White Pawn Alice — Every great adventure begins with a single step. Have you helped her reach the Eighth Rank yet?
Red Queen — She dictates the pace of the entire game and demands flawless execution. A formidable antagonist, without whom the collection would be incomplete.
Tweedledum & Tweedledee — The contrary White Bishops securing your diagonals. Make sure to add this argumentative duo to your board before they start a battle of their own!
Humpty Dumpty — The scholarly Red Rook sitting precariously on his wall.
White Unicorn — The elegant White Knight, ready to clash with the Lion!
“It’s a poor sort of memory that only works backwards...” While the Red Queen runs to stay in place, the White Queen is already screaming before she's even pricked her finger! Messy, constantly losing her shawl, but wielding immense power on the board, the White Queen is preparing to make her entrance. Follow the profile so you don't miss her beautifully chaotic arrival!
