Description
Once again, I had no luck finding a free insert fitting the French edition of Root, with all the expansions but without any of the fancy stuff like resin clearings or 3D printed buildings or tokens. It took me hours to design, but it was worth it ! (I hope !)
This insert fits the French edition of Root by Matagot & Leder Games, which has internal dimensions of 357*290*98 mm. Please check your box dimensions before printing ! Also note that my version of the game has thicker meeples (about 1 cm thick), compared to the ones extroodle has on MakerWorld, for example.
Each faction has its own box with everything a player needs for the game, including cards, tokens and meeples. Setup has never been so easy ! Also, the craftable items tray can be placed directly on the game board for quick setup. Note that cards can mostly be sleeved, except for the Vagabond cards that are not regularly shuffled (the "not quest" cards).
Some faction have dedicated box bases, but the other six share the same base. The cards trays can be used in game as well.
What does fit in the insert:
The base game components (except for the Mechanical Marquise 1.0)
The A-Q unused tokens
All 9 Vagabond meeples
The Riverfolk expansion (included in the base game in the French version)
The Underworld expansion
The Marauder expansion
The Clockwork expansion (bot boards but again, except Mechanical Marquise 1.0)
The three Hirelings expansions (please refer to the pictures on how to arrange the hirelings in the trays)
The five wooden cards holders (even if those are rarely used)
The two double-sided game boards
Both card decks and Clockwork cards (sleevable)
One Law of Root
One Law of Rootbotics
And.. one dice tower, because why not !
What does not fit in the insert:
The original Mechanical Marquise 1.0 board
The additional hireling dice and tokens (only one set of these are needed anyway)
The additional 1-12 black tokens
The "old" score tokens (without the faction image)
The additional set of plot tokens for the Corvid Conspiracy
The Learning to play booklets
The Homeland expansion (not available in French yet, but I will probably rework this insert once it comes out)
A big thank you to https://makerworld.com/fr/@extroodle for the inspiration for the faction boxes !
As always, this insert has been designed with OnShape and is available here : https://cad.onshape.com/documents/e8a31e25bc9f1588418b3a7a/w/e2dbd7d7b2887e29c98a1130
