Description
This model is one from my extensive Children's Toys Collection.
The large round marble maze is a fun handheld fidget toy and a small challenge for patient fingers.
The goal is simple: guide a marble through the maze until it reaches the center. Once the marble drops into the hole in the middle, it rolls through a hidden tunnel in the bottom of the model and can return to its starting position from two sides.
So the game does not simply end in the center — the marble finds its way back and is ready for the next round.
The marble itself can also be 3D printed, so no extra parts are required — unless you prefer using a real 1/4 inch steel, glass, or ceramic marble.
Tip: You can also use more than one marble to increase the difficulty level. With multiple marbles in the maze, things get a little more chaotic — and guiding them all to the center becomes much more challenging.
The maze now includes a small bottom opening. This allows you to insert, remove, or change the marble even after printing.
Thanks for the great user suggestion!
Thanks to a helpful user report, I found and fixed a small issue in one of the track segments. The updated stl file is now available.
The STL files are correctly aligned.
0.2 mm first layer height
0.1 mm layer height
2 Perimeters
100 % infill
No supports required
0.2 mm layer height
2 Perimeters
10 % gyroid infill
No supports required
To make the maze track stand out, you can use two color changes: one at layer #45 / 9.00 mm and another at layer #52 / 10.40 mm. The second color change should switch back to the main color.
