Description

My first version of this was too large. This one has been reduced by 30% to better match the 1:100 scale of Flames of War / World of Tanks. I also added more effects in the smoke cloud to better mimic real smoke. Since this is done by height, you can add color changes to enhance the look. Finally I added a hole at the bottom to glue in a 1x5mm round magnet (The same size that is used for the tank turret attachment). This give the token more stability when attaching it to a magnetized tank.

Steps for build:

  1. After printing out the 3 pieces, put a drop of super glue between the mirrored fire/smoke pieces and stick them together to make a double-sided marker.
  2. Now stick the double-sided fire/smoke marker in the squarish hole of the base. NOTE: The hole is NOT a perfect square, so you may have to turn the base once if your initial push is unsuccessful.
  3. Set it on a flat surface, push down and make sure it looks level on all sides by looking at it at eye level and rotating the base with your fingers. It may lean in one direction more than the other lengthwise, so some slight adjustment maybe needed.
  4. Now turn the token upside down and put a few drops of super glue in the hole at the bottom. This will keep the fire/smoke marker attached to the base more permanently.
  5. Let that dry
  6. If you want to add a magnet in the small hole at the bottom, you may glue a 1x5mm magnet in the hole at the bottom. NOTE: Make sure your magnet is polarized correctly so it attaches to the tank properly.

Flame design originally from SpankyTaz's Gaslands On-Fire Maker. I added the smoke and split the model down the middle for multicolor printing in my first remix.
