Description
This is an improved version of my spiky clicky stim toy, with a bigger knob and better click mechanism (from my fidget click-stick).
This clicker is quite spiky to stimulate a bit of harmless pain ("stim toy"), which can help focus better under some conditions (like ADHD).
Printing: Mostly standard settings, but
print the piston part (inner part of the knob with the click mechanism) with lower layer height (I used 0.17mm) to reduce friction and scratching noises,
further use manual layer height on that part to get layer height even smaller right where the clicky nubs are (see screenshot), I go down to 0.08mm layer height there.
I also uploaded 3mf files for PrusaSlicer and OrcaSlicer implementing those.
Printing just the inner knob part in a different color adds a nice accent.
There are 2 rear lids, a normal one and one with a keychain attachment hole.
Assemble as indicated in the last image (which comes from the non-spiky version):
I strongly recommend applying lubricant (grease, silicone oil etc) on the click mechanism before assembling it (see photo).
Insert piston into tube; use optional assembly tool or a pen etc. to push it through, so it sticks out on the other side.
Press button part onto piston part. Use some force and the parts join with a strong click (see image).
Remove assembly tool. Insert spring and close with cap.
The button might get stuck pressed down the first few times; just pull out and push again to break it in and make operation smother.
