Description
Rolling-log d10 dice shaped like an alchemist's potion vial — a
faceted glass body, a tapered neck and a cork. You roll it like a log;
the rounded bottom and tapered top can never rest stably, so it always
settles on a flat body face — read the face on top. A units vial
(1–10) plus a tens vial (00–90) together roll a percentile d100.
Ships with a 6-bay arched apothecary cabinet to stand the set on a
shelf, engraved with the four classical elements + aether under a
philosopher's-stone crown.
The apothecary stand is a display piece, not a carry case. The vials
rest loosely in open-top sockets — they are seated by gravity only,
nothing clips or retains them. It is lovely as a shelf display, but it is
not meant for carrying the dice from place to place: lift, tip or
jostle the rack and the vials will simply fall out. Move the rack empty
and re-seat the vials at the table.
| STL | Role |
|-----|------|
| vial_die_units_3color.stl| d10 1–10, three named solids (potion + numerals + cork), one coordinate frame |
| vial_die_tens_3color.stl| d10 00–90, the percentile partner |
| vial_stand_2color.stl| 6-bay apothecary cabinet, two named solids (stone body + gold sigils) |
| vial_die_units.stl/ vial_die_tens.stl| single-colour fused dice (grooves empty for paint-fill) |
| vial_stand.stl| single-colour stand (glyphs empty for paint-fill) |
Each *_3color/ *_2colorfile is several **named solids sharing one
coordinate frame**. In Bambu Studio: Import → right-click →
Split to Parts → assign each part a filament (potion = translucent,
numerals = contrast, cork = brown; stand = stone, sigils = gold). The
numerals and sigils are intersected with the body so they sit flush in
exactly their engraved grooves — perfectly registered, nothing to move.
Prefer paint? Print the single-colour files and brush acrylic into the
grooves, wiped flush.
Dice export already lying on one flat face → flat on the bed,
no supports. End tapers are 45°; the neck/cork cantilever prints
clean in PLA. A skirt/brim helps the small contact line.
- Stand prints flat on its base, no supports — open-top conical
sockets, self-supporting arched panel + bevelled plinth (≤45°).
- 0.2 mm layers, 3 walls. PLA or PETG, any 0.4 mm FDM (Bambu Lab P2S).
Every one of the 10 faces is identical about the roll axis, so the die
is fair like a pencil/spindle die. Give it a real roll, not a drop.
vial_dice.scadis fully parametric. facessets the die (6/8/10/12),
die_typepicks the units/tens preset, and *face_labels** lets you
engrave any set of labels — runes, suits, 0–9, custom text — one per
flat. Stand size, socket count and clearances are all variables.
