Description

This labyrinth box is quite hard to solve. One cannot see the possible paths and it is easy to lose track of the current position. So, once you have solved it, your satisfaction is even greater.

Closing the box is a bit easier. The possible paths are visible. Upon completing the closing process the box and lid snap together due to embedded magnets.

One labyrinth box uses 6 5mm x 2mm disk magnets. first4magnets F0502-N35-50 5 mm Diameter x 2 mm Thick N35 Neodymium Magnet (Pack of 50) : Amazon.de: Home & Kitchen

8 different lid designs are available.

Additional to the STL files, I uploaded for every model a Prusa Slicer project file. I already optimized it for print time (aligned seam, minimal travel, no unnecessary infill and no vertical shell thickness squiggly lines). The necessary pauses for magnet insertion are added as well. In the project file you can simply change to your printer, filament and print profile of your choice and you don't have to do any work on optimizing the project for print quality and speed.

Tips for printing

Make sure, that you print the BOT part first. Then print the top 20mm of the TOP part to check if your printer tolerances fit the model. If the TOP segment fits nicely and slides freely. Then you can confidently print the whole TOP part.

If the segment does not fit or does not slide freely, you can scale the TOP model in X-Y direction in 0.1% steps to loosen or tightening the tolerances.

Be careful to not upscale the parts too much, since it gets easy to force skips over the labyrinth path.

Good luck with printing and have fun!
