Description
Magnetic TicTacToe board and game pieces.
In the File section you will find models that support 5x3mm, 6x3mm, 8x3mm, and 10x3mm magnets. Additionally, for each of these sizes, there are 2 types of models: “glue-in magnets” and “embedded magnets”.
The “glue-in” versions will have a hole in the bottom of the pieces where you can glue the magnets in. This is the simpler approach, especially if you've never inserted pauses into your print. Notice the magnet is visible on the bottom.
The “embedded magnets" version have the hole inside of the pieces and you will need to insert a pause in your slicing software just before the hole is covered up so that you can embed the magnets inside. This is a more advanced approach. Notice the magnet is not visible (ok, it's at least harder to see right?)
Quantities to print:
1 board, 5 X's, 5 O's, and 5-10 circular “win” pieces.
Slicer settings:
Default slicer settings @ .2mm layer height.
A color change on the X & O game pieces will help the letters stand out more.
A brim might be required for the win pieces if you do not have great bed adhesion.
The “embedded magnets” models will all require you to insert a manual pause right before the magnet hole is covered up so that you can embed the magnets into the print.
Note:
The “win” pieces are used to keep track of how many times each player wins (green pieces in the photos and video).
Video:
I noticed I was having trouble grabbing the pieces and so increased the size of the little prongs by an additional 2mm since recording this.
