Description
Update: This version introduces a slider box with a snap-in mechanism.
You can choose between a triangular and a square box. Both designs utilize the snap-in system for a secure fit.
PentaCubits is a geometric puzzle consisting of 13 pieces. In addition to the box shape, various other shapes can be built.
The puzzle pieces are used on both sides.
This puzzle has a high level of difficulty.
The exact settings are not critical — your standard print profile should work fine.
I printed the puzzle with the following settings:
Material: PLA
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Infill: 15%
No supports
No raft, no brim
Lid Fit: If the printed lid jams or is too tight, reprint it with its width reduced by 0.1 mm or 0.2 mm in your slicer. For the triangular lid, apply this adjustment by 0.1 mm to both x and y directions.
Snap-In Mechanism: If the lid is too hard to close, file or sand it down slightly using a nail file or sandpaper until it clicks in smoothly. If the snap-in mechanism is not tight enough, you can print the lid 0.1 mm or 0.2 mm wider. For the triangular lid, adjust both x and y directions by 0.1 mm accordingly.
Pro Tip for Perfect Tiles: For a "factory-finish" look on both sides, print two half-thickness pieces (sink them 1.5 mm into the build plate in your slicer), mirror one set, and glue them together.
