Alien UFO

I designed this UFO in order to give this Alien a proper ship. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2668660

IMPORTANT: You must print both halves of the hull (Hull_1 and Hull_2) otherwise the threads will not be correct. The two halves are not a mirror image of each other. It was split in half to make printing easier and so as to not require supports.

ALSO IMPORTANT: If you want to add the Alien bust, it must be done prior to gluing the hull halves together otherwise you will not be able to fit his shoulders through the cockpit opening.

Hull_2 and Beamer will need to be rotated in your slicer (flat side down) prior to printing.

The UFO hull was printed from silk silver PLA.

The beamer (bottom half with the vertical glow sticks) was printed in black PLA.

The Alien bust was printed with deep blue glow in the dark PLA and plain black PLA for the eyes.

The STL files are redesigned a little bit from the original print shown in the photos. Mainly, I removed the dowel holes that were intended to help with gluing. I realized that two hull halves could be supported instead by setting them on top of a roll of duct tape (second image). They were glued together with clear E600 glue. The Alien bust can also be glued in.

I also increased the diameter of the rings on the underside to be able to accommodate two 8.00 inch long glow sticks comfortably.

I also devised some clips to enable hanging this which I would be happy to adjust for the current design and post if there is interest.
