Description

This is a highly-detailed model of a train bogie series 18-100, widely used in USSR/Russian/CIS freight wagons.

The height from rail level to the top of bogie is 9.5mm when using 10.7mm wheelsets (36" prototypical), e.g. these from aliexpress. Sockets for wheelsets follow NEM 314 (Carriage Wheelset for Tip Bearings). This model does not contain wheelsets! I strongly advise using ready-made metal wheelsets for better rolling performance, but if you really want, you can 3D print the wheelsets too, the wheels can be found here, for example.

Center hole is for 2mm self-tapping screw or M2 metal screw, hole can be drilled out for larger screws.

You will need 2 prints of "Bogie" (print flat side down), one of each of "Beam top" (print upside up) and "Beam bottom" (print upside down). There is also an optional NEM 362 pocket for couplings, "Coupler pocket" (print upside down).

This is a model with tiny details and requires the finest resolution you can get from your printer. I used 0.12mm layer height, 0.08 will be even better.

I've used PLA on Ender 3 with stock 0.4 mm nozzle. After printing, I glued everything together with super glue, primed with primer-filler spray and painted with a brush.

A lot of photos of the original can be viewed on scaletrainsclub.com forum: here and here.
