Description

Useful for DnD, Magic the Gathering, and may other table top games this life tracker is both easy to adjust and is more resistant to being knocked over then dice.

This updated version has side wheels to move the numbered tiles, while maintaining the form factor of the original.

Notes:

  • The tracker body, gear pin, and thumb-wheel parts have an intentional interference fit. They are designed so they snap together without the need for glue. Due to this it is necessary for your printer to be properly calibrated for dimensional accuracy.
  • Number parts print best when oriented on edge as shown in the example below.
  • Print 2 copies of all the Numbers, Thumb-wheel, Gear, Tracker body 2, and one copy of Tracker body 1a and 1b.

Part cleanup

After printing may parts may need cleanup, carefully remove any support material and sand those areas to remove any rough spots. Test fit all parts to make sure they fit and slide/rotate smoothly.

Assembly

Step 1

Install Gear into the slot in Tracker body 1a. Insert Thumb-wheel in to the hole in the bottom the of the Tracker body and through the Gear. Make sure the flat face of the hole aligns with the flat spot on axle of the Thumb-wheel. Align and place the Pin into the hole in the top of the Tracker body and press down firmly, you will hear it click into place.

Place all the Number tiles in the grove around the Tracker body, make sure they are in descending or ascending order. Use of a rubber band to hold the tiles in place during instillation is helpful. Align the tab on Tracker body 2 to the notch in Tracker body 1 and press them together. Again you will hear a click, then remove the rubber band.

Step 2

Repeat the operations of step 1 with Tracker body 1b. Make sure to arrange the Number tiles in the opposite order this time.

Step 3

Align the now assembled hafts and firmly press them together.

Post Assembly

Optionally painting or using a marker to color in the numbers will make it much easier to read at a distance.
