Description

Included dice are two-sided dice (d2) that have shapes similar to six-sided dice (d6), but with joined parallel faces. For each die after rolling the result is what will be seen at the top of the die. Those are not standard dice used mostly in games! if you're looking for standard d4 dice check my previous project printables:346350-dice-set.

Included dice have a shape similar to six-sided dice (d6), so included dice have 14 mm height which is standard for d6 dice based on  (WEIGHTS & MEASUREMENTS, DGD CATALOGUE).

On each die, there are four numbers, which is confusing, because they should have only two results - if only two numbers (1 and 2) would be placed on a similar die as presented a die would be unbalanced so there are four numbers per die - two ‘1’ and two ‘2’ in presented design.

 There are two files:

  • file “d2 rounded, numbers on edges.stl” include numbers pointing outside from the face that they're placed on e.g.:
  • file “d2 rounded, numbers in corners.stl” include numbers that are orthogonal to previously shown manner e.g.:

Standardization:

Included dice design is in the spirit of my previous dice project:

  • font: Arial 12 (4.5 mm) (based on the link, by purchasing Windows Operating System I have a right to even sell objects with this font, “as long as it's not the font itself”)
  • ‘1’ (number one) is replaced with ‘I’ (capital letter from ‘i’)
    • comment to standard: ‘1’ can be easily confused with ‘7’ in some fonts
  • if numbers 6 (six) and 9 (nine) occur ‘6’ (number six) is replaced with ‘6.’ (a dot following number six) and  ‘9’ (number nine) is replaced with ‘9.’ (a dot following the number six)
    • comment to standard: ‘6’ can be easily confused with ‘9’
  • numbers are extruded by -0.404 mm ("Original Prusa print profiles always use 0.20 mm as the first layer height." (based on the link) which will make numbers at minimum 2 layers)
  • dice main edges are rounded by 1 mm

About

The oldest place with the general shape that I've included in the dice is given by Julius3E8 at the printables:248763. This project serves the same purpose as Julius3E8s', but is made with a different approach (a standard that I've presented at the top of the Description section and is introduced with my previous project printables:346350-dice-set).
