Description
Another model from my 15-year-old son.
After many hours in blender creating the joints …..
And after many failed prints where the articulated joints weren't …..
Finally a short section of joints that came off the build plate and were free to move.
Then after many more hours in blender sculpting the head.
A fully articulated print-in-place snake slithered off the build plate.
We were all so impressed at how well it worked that we printed a couple more, just to make sure the GCODE was suitable for uploading here.
There is the .3mf file should you wish to make alterations to the model or slice it differently.
There is also the .gcode file that was used to print the three snakes shown in the photographs.
They were all printed in PETG for no reason other than the choice of colour and available filament.
I'd hope it would print fine in PLA or other materials. Please upload a MAKE to confirm this.
Note that the snake prints in one long line as getting the sections to line up correctly in a more curled-up fashion proved a little tricky.
But perhaps someone here can do so as a MAKE to show it is possible?
I hope you all like the snake.
