Description

I had made all of the Star Trek Ascendancy box organizers for the game thanks to westph21 on thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4386391

However the new expansions are not supported and despite another maker on thingiverse Bubble_0f_d00m he had only created the lids and not the dice towers because he didn't need them personally https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5498271

If anyone wants the dice towers, then I have created them for you.

I used the blank dice towers from the organizers and embedded (as well as I could) the symbols for the Dominion and Breen to their respective dice towers.

Previous printing the other dice towers vertically was a bit of a mess without supports, and with supports it filled the inside and I couldn't remove the supports without breaking the tower.

My sollution was this… I tried 2 methods… One was to print the Dominion dice tower on its back with tree supports - It works but needs cleaning up a bit and I recommend Tab corners to stop them curling up - I didn't use these but it printed good enough for me. The other method I used on the Breen dice tower was again printing it on its back with tree supports but I used a raft. This leaves a slightly rough surface on the back but I can cope with that. I used colours that are a good match for the game pieces (Zira Purple for the Dominion and Prima Value Dark Grey for the Breen). These are shown in my photos.

Printing Instructions: (Breen Dice Tower)

I printed these on my Creality CR-6 SE printer with Cura slicer 5.2.1. (Other printers/slicers can be used).

Material: PLA

Manufacturer: Prima Value

Colour: Dark Grey

Resolution: 0.2

Nozzle: 0.4mm

Print Speed: 80mm/s

Nozzle Temperature: 210 Degrees

Bed Temperature: 60 Degrees

Infill: 20%

Supports: Yes (Tree - Touching Buildplate)

Skirt: No

Brim: No

Raft: Yes

Both methods are shown above but you can use whatever is best for you (especially if you have printed other Star Trek Ascendancy dice towers before). I try not to use brims but you can if you get along with them instead of using Tab corners.

Enjoy your prints.
