Description
There are a few inserts out there for this game, but none of them checked all the boxes for me (bet you never heard that one before). Plus, this is my first real design, so I wanted to have fun.
The design was very much inspired by the only other insert I found that had three card wells; unfortunately that design didn't have a separator for turnips and relics, or any dedicated storage for the first-player markers (especially the deluxe metal coin). The insert was also a bit bland to be honest.
I wanted this one to be a bit more thematic, so I added turnip-shaped holes under the cards (it saves plastic and print time as well). And I added a nice dedicated slot for the metal coin to separate the tokens. The cardboard first-player coin is unfortunately too wide to fit vertically, so it doesn't have a dedicated spot; just put it in one of the turnip holes. There is also a small indent on top of the card box for the manual.
Note: the relic tokens were printed from here.
Also note that the insert is sized such that there is room at the bottom of the box for the unpunched cardboard turnips (about 1.6mm thick). If you don't have the punchboards anymore, the top of the inserts will not be perfectly flush with the box top; if necessary you can always reuse part of a punchboard from another game.
As mentioned, this is my first real design, so please feel free to share your comments!
