Description
Instaid of the millionth itteration (or reupload) of McGybeer's (awesome) cute mini octopus I started from scratch and came up with my own articulated print in place octopus.
This one has suction cups and a more detailed skin/shape.
I found his face to be missing something, so i gave him a quirky moustache but there's also a file without the stache.
There's also a seperate tentacle with 3 more segments, makes for a nice keychain hanger.
The print shouldn't require any supports. Designed and posed to fit on 220mm x 220mm beds with room for skirts and brims. I printed at 0.16, PLA, brim, no supports and 15% infill.
In theory it should print without a brim but i didn't have the guts to try as every suction cup starts seperately so i didn't want to risk one of them coming loose and ruining the entire print.
Be carefull, this isn NOT an easy print, your printer needs to be leveled and calibrated correctly.
It's a highly detailed sculpt in blender so there's a lot of faces, it might take your slicer a few minutes to slice but just give it some time, it'll get there. the mesh shouldn't have any errors.
I haven't tested scaling the model, i don't think scaling up would be a problem but scaling down will probably cause issues with the rings on the smaller bits of the tentacles sticking together.
designing the model took quite some time and it's free for all to download so if you share it please link back to me. (don't be a dick and go sell it off as your own, either the stl or prints.)
