Description
I made this to go with the baby sword rattle by Targ.
This baby shield rattle prints in separate pieces to minimize support. The four inserts contain the rattle medium and should be printed on edge with at least 4 perimeters and zero infill.
When printing the inserts, you can include a pause in the gcode about half way through to give you time to add the rattle medium (I used dried mung beans) or you can simply keep an eye on the print and carefully add the beads of your choice while the printer is running. I added 10-12 beads to each insert. Be sure not to add too much, or they won't have room to rattle around inside.
Print one of each piece, except the inserts which need 4 total. They are plated as pairs in case you want to do a two-tone color scheme.
Glue the pieces together using the appropriate glue for your material. I really like E6000 because it dries clear and it's flexible, which helps absorb shocks when the rattle is thrown on the floor.
The only piece that requires support is the handle, but it's technically a bridge so if you want to try printing without support, go for it.
I also added a color change to the 3mf for the frame, so that you can change colors for the bump on the front (I made it gold to match the sword.)
