Description

This is a simple to print, simple to build toy “Hopper”.  Once assembled you pull the string to build up potential energy then let go to see it fly!

Build Instructions:

  • Print 3 Legs, 2 TopBottom, and 1 cap.
  • I would suggest PETG to start as PLA could shatter.
  • Use .15 layer height and 100% infill.
  • Mount the “TopBottom” to the arms with cut filament. You will push the filament through the holes.
  • Use a warmed screwdriver to smoosh the extra filament caps into rivets.
  • Lace a string of your choice through the hole in the cap (you dont have to tie it).
  • Feed the string through the top hole and then the bottom hole.
  • Push the cap tight, the friction of the cap and string should make it a snug fit. If its loose, please use a little drop of glue to secure the cap.
  • You're done!

Use Instructions:

  • Find a wide open empty space.
  • I HIGHLY suggest wearing eye protection. For children, always have them angle it away from eyes.
  • Pull the string down to make the legs flex into an outward facing C.
  • Once there is a lot of tension on the line and the Hopper is primed….
  • Let go of the string!
  • Watch it fly!

I hope people can do remixes of the “Cap”. I think it could be awesom with different shapes, weight, and whistles.

Enjoy!
