Update 2025-10-03 : Added text in the matrix that in the mini version the general is the highest rank and can be captured by the spy.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________

As a boy (a loooong time ago) I spent hours playing the Stratego game.
Here is now my “Travel”-version.

The board is, because of size, reduced to 8 X 8 fields. This is the “mini” version.
There are now also only 24 game pieces.

The rules you can find here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratego
or here:
https://www.officialgamerules.org/stratego

Because of size and visibility I had to select different images for the pieces. Below you find a comparison and available ranks.

On each game piece I also embossed the rank nr. (visible only when you lift the piece from the board)

Instructions

You can print the Bottom with 0.2 mm layer. There are 2 color changes, blue for the lakes and black for the grid.

Use a piece of filament for the hinge.
You probably have to ream the holes a bit with a 1.8 mm drill.

Print the lid also with 0.2 mm layer.

Print the latch with 0.1 mm layer. Glue the latch to the lid, otherwise it will come loose over time.

The game pieces with 0.1 mm layer and a color change. Of course you have to print 2 sets of pieces with different colours.

If you have a smaller 0.25 mm nozzle please try to print the game pieces with that size and let me know the results (I am planning to buy a 0.25 nozzle)

When you print my design, please share it.
