Description
* The enhanced version is 3d printed tiles by Joesen (see https://www.printables.com/de/model/327124-wip-cartographers-game-board ).
I printed 4 sets of each print file so I can play a 4-player game.
As there was no full insert available to fit inside the regular box (as it is an exceptional case) I designed my own. It has a cover lift, but still not high enough that the cover moves around and still holds everything in place.
In addition, I created a scoresheet (as the whole sheets doesn't make sense anymore) and as you can see in the pics on top of the cards, there is space for a small pen (e.g., the ones you can find from IKEA).
A few key pieces of information:
- It fits the German version of the game (measurement inside the box: 193x139x37.6mm)
- It fits standard-sleeved cards (I used Docsmagic Standard grey 63.5x88mm sleeves)
As for other inserts I create I aim for the following (in priority order):
* Enhance setup and tear-down part
* No need for covers of boxes but designed for horizontal and vertical storage
* Opted to store sleeved cards (not a requirement for this insert)
* Try to be as lightweight and resourceful as possible.
*Enhanced setup/tear-down part:
The trays for the cards are sorted that on the top level are all the cards required during a regular game. In the center tray there are the goal/scoring cards and in the bottom are the skill cards (in our games they are most of the time not used).
The tile tray can be kept inside the box during play or taken out - as wished.
* Try to be as lightweight and resourceful as possible.
The total amount of filament for the whole set is a bit more than 140g.
* Printing requirement:
Nothing special, print with your preferred setting. The 3mf of the card tray has two parts. Print the lower part with no top/bottom layer, honeycomb 15% infill (to save some material, but not required)
I'm open to suggestions & feedback
Have fun printing
