RX-24 Pilot Droid (Star Wars Black Series) - 1:12 scale

The RX-series pilot droid was a line of pilot droids produced by Industrial Automaton. Used around the galaxy - initially for piloting spacecraft but eventually repurposed for a variety of uses - the RX-series of droids were versatile and long-lived. Famously used by Star Tours to pilot their StarSpeeder 3000 series transport craft, these droids cropped up in the oddest corners of the galaxy when sold off for surplus or “lost” by other means.

This model has been sitting around for quite a while waiting to publish - not sure why, to be honest. And with the RX series droid showing up in Skeleton Crew, it felt like a good time to send it out into the world.

Like my other droids, I wanted something simpler and more forgiving that can be made on a typical FDM printer, although this model pushes the boundaries and likely needs a very well-tuned machine. It is optimized for printing, not necessarily 100% screen accurate. The ball joints are very stiff - I like them this way to help with posing and play. I've tried to name the elements to ease construction, and the files below are largely in order of assembly. I've also included an exploded rendering to help.
