ALPHABET TRAIN

July 6, 2023
Description
Print your own train in any combination of colours, letters or numbers. (Simple assembly necessary). Letters are about 35mm high.
Printed in PLA 0.4mm nozzle 0.2 and 0.3mm layer heights.
I imagine that in due course a series of symbols might turn up to suit seasonal events, but for now I've included a blank mounting piece that can be used to mount your own custom versions.
ASSEMBLY
Engine and Carriage.
Print in two halves from the STLs provided. A single piece model has been included for use if you have a resin printer.
A tiny drop of CA glue applied between the two halves of the Engine and Carriage parts will ensure they stay assembled. Then simply click them into place.
Wheels
For axle pins use about 15mm of filament with a tiny drop of CA glue on the tip and press firmly into place into the wheels - the filament should be a tight friction fit.
If they are too tight, you can either drill the holes slightly, or cut the axles at an angle to ease them into the holes.
The axle pins are only there to stop the wheels from separating but make sure you don't get any glue on the outer wheel/axle surface or it will stop them from turning.
Letters and Numbers
These just click into place - if necessary they can be removed by squeezing the tabs together from the underside.
