Description

Been working on this for months for my son during my spare time.

Master sword with a telescoping blade. The blade pieces can be replaced as the top of the pommel screws off. The hilt is modeled after the Master Sword from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Print Instructions:

Hilt and Accents:

-Print at 0.20 mm layer height with a 0.4 mm nozzle

-Print with 2 or 3 walls

-15% infill

-PLA

-No supports are needed but if your printer has trouble with threads, I would suggest putting supports on the threads of the pommel cap.

Blade files:

-Print at 0.20 mm layer height with a 0.4 mm nozzle

-Print in vase mode with extrusion width equal to twice your nozzle size (0.8 mm for a 0.4 mm nozzle). This only applies to the blades.

-Print Blade 1 (the tip) in vase mode with an added solid bottom layer

**Update 10/27/23: I have added a file called Master sword Blade 1 Upright. This file allows you to print the tip pointing up and the tip will be closed. I have found it much easier to print than the previous file with the tip down and the support disc.

-PLA will work for this, but I prefer PETG because my kids like to swing them around and the extra flexibility prevents in from breaking as quickly.

Once you have printed all of the files, glue the accent pieces on before putting in the blades as to prevent gluing the blades together. The blades should slide inside each other, and then into the top of the hilt. The screw top of the hilt is a little tight at first but there should be no gap in the pommel.

I have included files for a single color print, all of the pieces separated, and a file that might work of a multi-material setup. I have not tested my multi-material file as my MMU has not shipped yet.  The hilt in the pictures was printed in separate parts then glued together.

You can try to print all of the blades together concentrically, but I have not done this as I feel the blades are stronger in vase mode.

Prints great at 80% on a Mini+, but I would not go any smaller than that. If you do change the size be sure to change the extrusion width of the blades by the same scaling factor or the blades will not function properly.

Please let me know if you have any problems with the files.

Please do not sell these as I sell my models.

Thank you for understanding and I hope you enjoy the print.

Inspired by 3dprintingworld's collapsing dagger, and my son's love of Legend of Zelda
