Disintegrating Nerf Vulcan ammo belt with vertical trio support print layout

How:

This conversion works by having the links print in threes, simultaneously support each other as they print, navigating towards each other using 45 degree ramp overhangs

Other features:

I've also designed in sacrificial parts (to be printed in 0.2mm height and 0.4mm line thickness) at the clearance interacitons. The "no sac" STL file is if you want to use your own supports.

I've also altered the telescoping barrel (i.e. dart air seal) to be a ramp instead of step, and added fillets where possible to stop sharp internal bends (i.e. stress concentrators), as the vertical print tends to be more fragile.

Progress:

This thing is still partially WIP, I'm uploading early since there seem to be a couple of vulcan projects ongoing in the hobby, and I'd rather not hold them up in the event that I don't get round to finishing reworks/fixes anytime soon.

V12 (30th October 2022):

I've not worked on this since I lost interest in Vulcans, and I realised that I've gone a few more iterations I never got round to uploading.

• Inverted the print direction to allow for better interfacing of the locator flange against the Vulcan feed rotor plate
• Added additional locator flanges to allow Vulcan to located feed better
• Reduced plastic needed for collar
• Changed the flat linkages (the bit between links) to fillet into the curves of the tube bodies, so as to reduce stress concentration and allow for additional linkage thickness
• Tweaked inner diameters to improve efficiency.
