Starship Style Model Rocket - D Engine

The Starship style model rocket takes inspiration from the Starship heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed by SpaceX. This rocket was designed and prototyped for use with Estes 24mm D12-3 motor, and Estes 3/16" rod launch pad. It is a single stage version of Starship, the motor is loaded into the Booster and Starship acts as the Nose Cone. To stabilize this rocket the Booster Fins and Starship Fins were modified from the original Starship design. The rocket is 42mm in diameter, it has a total length of 22", it weighs 190 grams with the motor installed, and it will fly 650+ feet. It is 3D printed in ABS plastic and it is made up of 6 parts; the nose cone, the starship body, the booster tube assembly, the booster base fins, and the motor cap. For reference I included an image of the Open Rocket design file.

**Nose Cone - add infill with a target weight of 19 grams**

Assembly: Test fit parts before assembly, make any adjustments needed with sand paper. Glue Base Ring to Base Fins. Install shock cord on Lower Tube Mount. Glue Lower Tube to Upper Tube. Glue Tube assembly to Base Fins. Glue Nose Cone to Starship Body. Attach the shock cord to Starship Body Base, and then add the parachute.
