Description
I made this portable dice tower because I wanted a simple, elegant tool for game night. No more game board disruptions from enthusiastic rolls! I included the files so you could two-color print some proper 16mm dice as an added bonus. If you don't have a two-head printer, you can print the single die and add color with a dice marker.
The dice in the picture are 15mm single-color dice with a dice marker used to add the color. A dice marker is basically a giant crayon used to scrape wax into the holes in the die. I gave someone the 16mm dice and I only had my original 15mm dice for the photo.
Printer:
Lulzbot Taz 6 MOARStruder
Rafts:
No
Supports:
Yes
Resolution:
.8 mm
Infill:
25%
Notes:
You can probably get by without supports. I used them on the cover for the lip under the straight edge of the rounded side of the model just to get a little cleaner edge. I used my 1.2mm nozzle to print .8mm layers. You can use whatever your printer's max layer height is for this project. However, above .8mm it gets a little clunky looking with the curves. I used two solid bottom layers, 25% infill and three solid top layers to get a good finish on the top layer.
I used Fusion 360. This was a great project for learning the program.
