Spherical dice with cheat function (Cheating not recommended!)

This is a variant on my original spherical dice.

It has 2 models: a “fair” one and one with a “cheat” function.

The model is now cut between the markings on the surface. The disadvantage is that the inside is not as nice anymore, but I was still able to print this without supports. The outside looks slightly better.

To be able to glue both halves properly aligned together I have in both halves designed 3 holes. Here you can stick in a small piece of filament (approx 2mm long) to line up the halves. Depending on your print etc, you might have to ream the holes with a 1.75 - 1.80 mm drill. (The design specifies a 1.85 mm hole).

Be sure to orient the .stl correctly on the build plate!

The “cheat” model has spaces to glue in small round 6 by 2 mm thickness. Be sure you put them in as deep as possible. The neodymium magnets I used were too strong, I also had to glue some piece of cardboard on top of the magnets to reduce the strength.

To use the “cheat” function hold the number you want up and knock hard with the dice on a hard surface. You have to experiment a bit.

Be aware when you cheat you do that on your own risk. You likely will loose friends. I am not liable…. But you could use it to do some “magic tricks”…..
