Description
Hello! I present to you my articulated dragon model. Its print in place and require no supports. Made with a use of Blender.
I encourage you guys to post a make after printing. Im curious of your filament choice and the print result!
I do not recommend scaling the model down! The connectors on the descending parts of the tail are already small in the default scale.
Beware: The slicing will take some time. For me it was even up to 10 minutes. For complicated structures its normal. Ive tried printing the dragon with 0.4, 0.5, and 0.6 nozzles with 0.2/0.16/0.12 layer height - all ptints turned out successful. Try your own settings and let me know whats the limit :D
The Reduced Size file is exactly what the name suggests - since the orginal STL weights more than 500mb, I used MeshMixer to reduce it a bit. I haven't printed the reduced version, but the model doesn't look like it has lost any quality.
The model is based on the Nordic dragon Nidhogg. So the goal here is long,
snake-like body structure and demonic, hostile appearance. Can't miss the claws, horns and numerous spines growing from the body. The dragon is mainly stationed in
underground of the sacred tree (Yggdrasil), and his supposed demise comes during Ragnarök. In my project, Im depicting Nidhogg as a decaying skeleton, for millennia
resting underground - a place where he spent almost his entire life.
My project is the result of a master's thesis about dragons. If you can read Polish, my text work is attached - the third chapter illustrates the process of creating the model. If you are interested, check it out.
