While you can insert coins through the letter slot, larger banknotes can easily pass through the top functional flip-down tray.

The whole mailbox can be printed and put together within a weekend or less. 

Although this model necessitates some glue, don't worry if you tend to be a bit messy, as any imperfections will be concealed and won't show in the end result… I am still trying to to optimize the model and figure out if I can come up with something more universal… So maybe more iterations to come if there's interest…

Some parts like the front and back panels are meant to be printed on the side so they might require a bit of brim (if like me you print using PLA). The Emblem requires a colour change from white to blue. 

The assembly is fairly intuitive, but here's an effort to document the process as thoroughly as possible:

 Parts A and B should be glued together like this:

The entire base assembly (A&B) can now be glued into the lower slot of side panel D like this:

Take a 7.5cm (~2.95") segment of filament and thread it through the holes in part E (main door) and F (front panel). This forms the hinge for the top door.

Insert and glue the front assembly (E&F) into the front slot of side panel D like this: 

Then the back panel (G) like this:

Seal everything with the remaining side panel (H):

The bottom lid (C) can now be inserted and twisted into position:

Stick the Emblem (I) to the front panel (F) like this:

and voilà! , you now have an awesome new piggy bank.

If you have trouble with the color switch, than you can print the two parts and glue them. The shape of the Eagle on the white part is embossed for ease of assembly. Only the small part of the beak needs to be freestyled into place.
