Description

Print easily in one flat sheet, and then fold into a pint-sized racer!

  • No Supports
  • Utilize a filament swap ~layer 20 for custom seat/engine color
  • Compliant Mechanism suspension

Instructions

  1. Fold the green lines slightly up. To do this without accidentally folding the yellow lines, use your scraper to hold the rest of the car down to the table. (see video)
  2. Now fold the yellow lines 90 degrees, allowing the wheel holders to go down.
  3. Fold the red lines to form the hood, tucking the back of the hood cutout under the notch by the engine.
  4. Fold the blue lines to form the back, using the clips to attach around the car's windows.
  5. Hold an axel upright against the table. Press a wheel down onto the top.
  6. Slide axel through wheel holes and then press the other wheel on. (Note - if your wheels press in too far, you can print new axels that are stretched slightly longer)

Troubleshooting

IssueSolution
Fold lines break

Avoid old, brittle filament.

Only fold one time (don't go back and forth)

Axel won't go into wheel

Press really firmly while supporting the axle against the table.

Otherwise, you may need to adjust your slicer's horizontal expansion setting.

Wheels are touching the body of the car and won't spin.Re-print axels which should take 1 minute. In your slicer, stretch them slightly longer.
