Description
This was prepared as part of a white elephant gift for a group of engineers, but also served as a simple introduction to OpenSCAD. The source SVG icons were processed via a script through the Inkscape CLI to slightly thicken the outlines and then via OpenSCAD to modify the geometry for each face using the SVG.
The dice are 1in (25.4mm) cubes. You will need for each of your dice:
Each face is designed as a trapezoidal prism that snaps into the core and can be glued into place. This allows you to print each face down to achieve a consistent texture for all 6 sides. A blank face is also included for remixing as well as the OpenSCAD script if you want to use your own SVGs!
Given the fine details of many of the icons, it's highly recommended you use a 0.2mm nozzle and also slow down your first layers. The layer height is less important, but I used 0.1mm. Each of the icons is debossed 1mm into the face. To make the icons white, apply a color change starting at approx. 0.5mm.
