Description
There are a lot of different insets available, original and printable ones, like these: https://www.printables.com/de/model/426509-gravitrax-tile-insets
But those insets will float around as they are not tied to a base tile, but you can easily swap them out. To help them storing away in a sensible manner, I created this model using FreeCAD. Besides the .stl files the FreeCAD files are available as well.
My solution only has space for 3 to 6 insets (those insets vary in height, depending on their purpose), but it is stackable. This has the advantage that a specific inset can be easily found without unloading the whole storage, and it makes it easier to keep those tiles in place. With bigger storage solutions like a longer extruded hex shape, it is difficult to put them in without them tipping over and you cannot easily retrieve a specific one later. I also tried putting them sideways into a “half” hex shaped form, but that was to wobbly and the insets didn't stay in place.
I made two versions, both compatible with each other with respect to stacking, one should give the tiles a little bit more guidance, but I only tested the other version, with less material used. In the end it's not paramount to have the tiles in the correct position, as due to stacking, the tiles cannot escape either way.
