Fidget Gems and rocks (about 20mm) for treasure chests, gold hordes, general models, D&D, games, dioramas etc.

These models are intended to be gems, or coal or something to stuff into a create or treasure chest.

Ideally I would have printed them in translucent filament, but I don't have any, so I improvised.

There are 8 different models, each unique.

The images are random shots of all 8 at once, I mixed them up randomly to give you and idea of what each one looks like. See models for exact details. In the images you can see layer lines, but in reality, the lines are virtually invisible.

Print

These are printed in a very standard way, just use the default settings for the material used.

I printed all the models in PLA. I didn't use black as it doesn't show up so well in the photos.

• Nozzle: 0.4mm
• Layer height: 0.2mm
• Brim: Not needed
• Support: None
• Infil: 20% (they are small, and you need a decent roof)

Note: I have tried to make the default orientation so that they will adhere to the bed and print easily. To do that, I used PrusaSlicer and popped them down on the bed, with suitably vertical overhangs. If you have bed adhesion problems, use a 3/4mm brim. But be warned, you will need to clean up the gems later.

Scaling should not be a problem if you need rocks.

Ideas

Ideas to make them look good.

1. Use transparent filament
2. Use gyroid or some similar interesting internal pattern
3. Use marble filament to make rocks
4. Use black filament to make coal
5. Painting is an option too
6. Scale as you see fit, there is a limit to how much smaller they will go
