Simple Pulsar 2849 insert

This is a simple insert for the board game Pulsar 2849.

I downloaded several other available inserts but they were all too big for a fairly simple game and I decided to make one to use as little material as possible, but still be as functional as possible. It is definitely not the best insert for the game around, but it is (as far as I know xD) the smallest and still pretty functional.

So, this one works like this; take all the bigger cardboard boards and tiles and put them in a pile on one side of the box (I might add some kind of container for end game scoring tiles, but at this moment, they are just part of the pile). The other half of the box is used for the insert.

When assembling the insert boxes put the large one with inlays for A/B/C transmitter tiles in one corner. These tiles are higher than insert and need to be put in a corner where the circular main board will not (try to) cover them (as pictured).

Pictures include first version of the insert that I made that I subsequently improved, but have not tested. Changes in v2 include:

• 4 and 7 point award tiles are a bit higher than I measured at first point, so they are also unable to fit into the insert, so I changed their inlay to be next to the transmitter tiles, and therefore not bellow the main board.
• Gyrodine tokens, 4 resource cubes tokens and modifier tokens inlays raised by 1-2cm from the lowest level so that they are easier to pick up.
• Resource tokens insert now has cylindric base so that they are easier to pick up.

There are 2 files included;

• Removable Boxes include boxes for players, modifier tokens and resource tokens.
• Big Box includes one box that, technically, should not be removed from the box during the games. It provides space for everything else

It is possible to split the first file into separate pieces if you need that. The second file should be printed as is.

Insert is test for vertical storage and works fairly well, but it is not perfect. The board covers all the pieces that are prone to flying around the box, but there is about 2cm space in the box above the main board, so the shake test will certainly fail. I might include some kind of lid for the removable boxes at some point, but right now, I recommend horizontal storing. Or gentle vertical xD

Print settings:

Printer: Ender 3 V3 SE

Infill: 5%

Resolution: 0.32

It is about 220gr of PLA and takes about 10 hours to print on my printer.

Added lids for all removable boxes. I recommend leaving bed to cool of completely before removing, as lids are very thin and will warp very easily when heated.
