Ultimate Strong Plane Launcher

Overview

This is stronger version of my Ultimate Plane Launcher.

List of changes

-Added 2,2 mm to each wall so now it is significantly more sturdy. 

-Added  some bevels for better grip.

-Reprojected tensioner so you can make bumper with it

-Reprojected zip so it is stronger

Now you can shoot it without load and barrel not break so easily like previous version. The only damage can occur in the ZIP after some shoot without load. But this part is fast to print and replace.

I also uploaded clean version for easier print.

Instruction of print

This model is quite long and thick. Sometimes during printing it can warp on ends, so good adhesion is necessary. If you have problem with adhesion try to use brim.

You can print it with any layer height as you want. The higher the layer, the faster the print. I printed with draft mode. (0.28mm - 0.3 mm layer height). More important are walls and infill. The more walls, the more stronger print. I printed base with 5 walls and 30 % cubic infill  and cover with 10 walls and 100% infill.

To print “base”, “trigger middle” and use normal supports for rubber bands hooks. 

For “tensioner” also use organic support and additionally some brim.

Instruction of assembly

This version require three M3 x 16 mm hex bolts and nuts for fix base with cover and one M3x20 mm for attach tensioner to barrel. I used type like on photo below

Below is simple schematic of assembly. 

To load correctly, the trigger must be in the up position. Often you have to set it with your thumb in the right position as in the video below

If you want to shoot without load or just prevent to accident shot who may lead to barrel damage then you have to make bumper.

You can also improve power of bumper, by move it on last hook, it depends on power of your main rubber band.

Versions

Model has two versions

First is with pattern but it is harder to print

Second one is clean so it is easier to print and modify for example if you want to make your own pattern or put name on it.
