WinSpin Prize Wheel - Replacement Pointers/Clickers - Varied Resistance

These are replacement pointers/clickers for WinSpin brand prize wheels (12" & 14" dia. models), with seven levels of resistance. The stock pointer that comes with the product slows down the spin fairly quickly. I wanted the wheel to spin longer to build anticipation. The rigidity, and the length of contact on the segment pegs of the original pointer were the main factors in determining the spin duration. I designed seven replacement pointers, which range from greater to lesser resistance than the original pointer. This range of resistance is achieved by incrementally decreasing the thickness and/or length (amount of contact) of the replacement pointers. The holes in the center also have a small effect.

As shown in the included diagram, the 4, 5 & 6 hole models create less resistance. I found that the 5-hole model achieved just the right amount of resistance to let the wheel spin for a bit, but not for too long.

To replace the pointer, remove (pry out) the circular plastic side caps, and unscrew the nut and bolt assembly. The pointer is hanging from the hidden bolt. Replace the pointer and repeat the prior steps, but in reverse.
